At Kentucky Mountain Doodles, we have proudly specialized in training Psychiatric Service Dogs for over three years, combining our extensive knowledge of canine behavior, professional training experience, and genuine passion for helping others.
Throughout the years, we have had the privilege of successfully placing numerous Psychiatric Service Dogs with individuals and families, witnessing firsthand the life-changing impact these incredible dogs can have.
Our Psychiatric Service Dogs are carefully selected and individually trained to perform specific tasks tailored to their handlers’ unique needs. Whether providing deep pressure therapy, interrupting anxiety-related behaviors, responding to signs of emotional destress, or assisting individuals with PTSD and other psychiatric disabilities, our goal is to develop dependable canine partners who make a lasting difference.
Therapy Dogs
Carefully selected and professionally trained dogs to bring comfort, companionship, and meaningful connections to individuals, staff and/or patients inside healthcare facilities, schools, and other therapeutic environments.
We take great pride in specializing in the training and development of exceptional Therapy Dogs. With over 15 years of professional dog training experience and certifications in Therapy Dog Training, and AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluation, we are dedicated to preparing dogs for the unique responsibilities that come with making a difference in the lives of others.
Our Therapy Dogs are carefully evaluated for temperament, confidence, sociability, and adaptability before beginning their specialized training. We focus on developing calm, gentle, well-mannered dogs who are comfortable interacting with people of all ages and navigating a variety of environments. Each dog receives individualized training designed to prepare them for their future role, while emphasizing the importance of a strong trusting relationship with their owner/handler.
In Depth House Training
For more than four years now, we have proudly provided several different levels of house training designed to meet the diverse needs of our customers and their dogs. These thoughtfully structured options span from a gentle introductory program for families just beginning in-house training to more comprehensive, advanced programs that include fully house-trained puppies ready to integrate smoothly and confidently into their new homes.
Transportation Services
Getting your puppy to you will be no issue at all! If for any reason you are unable to come pick your puppy up in person, we have two wonderful and reliable ground transport teams that can bring your new furry friend right to your front door. Both of these companies are fully licensed and insured, ensuring safe and secure transportation, and they share a deep love for travel as well as for our beloved fur babies. Rest assured, your puppy will be in good hands throughout the journey.
Our Story…
Over 19 years ago, we began our journey by breeding and training Labrador Retrievers, which turned into Labradoodles. This then expanded to include Goldendoodles, Bernedoodles, Aussiedoodles, and Australian Mountain Doodles. We no longer breed Labradoodles, and we only have the occasional Aussiedoodle litter. Being a small family-owned business, we only have a few litters per year, which allows us to keep our main focus on producing the very best, highly trainable, hypoallergenic, and non-shedding puppies. About 90% of our customers want an older, trained puppy/young adult, so our primary focus for the past several years has been to provide our customers with the very best trained new family members.
